Go to TopIntroduction

This site celebrates the SeaHawk 17ft GRP drop-keel yacht. SeaHawks were built in England between 1969 and 2001, initially by Reedcraft Ltd, at The Quay, Reedham, later by R. Moore & Son (Wroxham) Ltd in their works at Station Road, Wroxham, and finally by Mistral Craft of Bridge Street, Loddon, when they were marketed by Pyefleet Boat Sales of Crouch Street, Colchester.

Some of the information on this site is speculative, based on memory, observation and guess work. Please provide corrections or confirmation of anything found on the site by using the Feedback page, and I will do my best to update the site. Further information and updates are, of course, always welcome too!

The site is maintained by Greg Chapman who became a SeaHawk (#267) owner on Easter Day 2004. It also means he found material for another section of his Greg Afloat site!

The site's menu found at the top left of every page should enable you to navigate around the site. (An explanation of the Menu options is provided in the Navigation section below.) However, if you're struggling to find what you want use the site's search facility (Just use standard Google search syntax):

The site is divided into a number of sections, indicated on the main menu at the top of the panel on the left of the screen. Below the main menu, which is repeated on every page, are links to the headings appearing on the current page. Small arrows by these headings return you to the top of the page, to allow easy access to the main menu.

This is the Home Page.

The What's New page is intended for regular visitors and lists all updates to the site.

The History section describes the origins of the SeaHawk's design, its development, the story of the companies that built it, one thay hoped to build it, and finally, news of the destruction of one of the mould tools!

Description provides links to basic information about the hull, cabin, rig, sails, and other options that could be fitted when new.

The Promotion section contains scans and text from a collection of material produced by the builders of the boat.

Under Reviews are a collection of magazine articles and reviews posted by owners and those who have sailed a SeaHawk found on various web-based forums, newsgroups and mail lists.

Boat Shed is the section both for owners to report how they have overcome particular maintenance problems and for listing businesses reported as useful by the sites users for maintaining, repairing and enhancing their SeaHawks.

The Gallery section is, as you will have guessed, where you are invited to submit pictures of your boat, but not just pictures, the stories behind them too!

For Sale is a page for you to advertise your SeaHawk.

The Feedback page, is where you can contribute to the site. It also announces the SeaHawk MailList, where you can chat about your boat, by e-mail, with other SeaHawk owners.
